One of the most stimulating hours of radio each week is provided by Tavis Smiley and Cornel West. I am consistently astounded by the breadth and depth of their knowledge, as well as their (com)passion. This week they provided an abbreviated version of their "Remaking America" (listening linky) with Michael Moore, Suze Orman, Barbara Ehrenreich, Majora Carter, Roger Clay, and Vicki B. Escarra recorded live in Lisner Auditorium at George Washington University.
I don't always agree with West, especially his harsh criticism of Obama. Unless our beliefs are challenged, how can we defend them? It's important to listen to other points of view and digest them, not just take in things that confirm what we already believe.
