Adieu, M/V Rhododendron

So sad.  The M/V Rhododendron is oldest ferry in Washington State's extensive fleet, and doesn't meet the Coast Guard's safety standards. Today was Rhody's last day and I was glad to have one last ride on her today.

Goodbye to classic old design, brass rails and all.

She will be replaced with the 64-car Chetzemoka, which was constructed in 2010. The Chetzemoka is named after an Olympic Peninsula chief from the mid 1850's of the Jamestown S'Klallam tribe.  Chetzemoka (T'chits-a-ma-hun) was known as peacemaker.  The name is about the only good thing about this new boat, as far as I can tell.
