A.D.D. much? Yeah, I definitely have that tendency. Plus Pops' klutzy falling down thing. Oy.
I meant to do an entire omnibus of my Vashon Island trip and went completely down a rabbit hole of memory from the scent of lilacs. They are still quite splendid, casting off an even more intense aroma than last night.
ANYWAY.
So, Dig. What a gorgeous place. I want to move into their garden and live in their little shed/office. The entrance to the nursery has rocks piled into wire cages that form columns. The one right at the entry has an old cast iron drain cover, reversed, and planted with succulents. Cool, eh?
This place is all about texture and color and depth.
I bought this large flat dish - wish I had had the money to buy the tall jar as well. They call this finish "Frog Skin". This innovative water feature is created from a concrete drain pipe and an I-beam... The floating silver balls remind me of that great BBC TV series from the late 60's called "The Prisoner." But not as creepy.Succulents galore... check out the rusty trays...
I adore these concrete pavers. They are designed to be used as driveways and forecourts for cars.
Glass "flowers" and rusted finials and trellis...
Lunch at The Hardware Store - it's the oldest building on Vashon Island and on the National Historic Register. Nice prosecco - cheers! The ferry ride home featured spectacular clouds.
