- I started blogging when I wearied of racing purebred gerbils in the Large Hadron Collider. Why "truth & beauty"? Here's the story: In my former career as an architect, I worked in the London office of an American architectural firm for a while. The project architect for the project that I was working on was a tall lanky lad from the USA, who was personally responsible for checking every single steel reinforcing drawing that came across his desk for a particular international bank's renovation. A lot of responsibility and no nourishment for the soul. One morning when I came into work I found him surrounded by about 10 stacks of steel reinforcing drawings, all about three feet high. I asked him how he was, and his mournful response was:"Hell, Lysa, I went to school to learn how to create Truth and Beauty and look what I'm doing now."
