Goodbye Dinner Party For Simon and Mimi...

... and he cooked!  How cool was that?  It was wonderful to sit out on the deck and talk to Mimi (and drank lots of beer!) while Simon cooked and Ali chopped.  The menu was some awesome chicken that I think Simon stuffed with lemon and garlic, grilled it a bit on the grill, then cut it up and finished it in the oven.  He served it over a cauliflower and sour dough dressing?  stuffing? with fresh parsley, pine nuts, and paprika.  He revealed the secret to the great taste when I asked him where all the olive oil went.  ;)  It was utter perfection - served with a wonderful salad that Ali chopped up things for (carrots, zucchini, tomatoes, and baby lettuces) and Si made a great salad dressing.  Wine, The Roasterie "Classic Cup", and fake Bailey's Irish Cream.  What's not to like?

This was my first experience of Simon's mad skills and it was worth waiting for!!  Such a fun evening with three of my favorite people - yeah, I included you, Ali!

The peonies are from the front yard - a bumper crop this year.  The smells were heavenly.

So, how much of a sewing nerd am I?
This is how much: this photo is my "homepage" image on my BlackBerry and it lifts my spirits every time I see it.
One of my thread drawers.
Yep. Colored threads make me happy.

Shanghai prepares for Expo 2010 - The Big Picture - Boston.com

Amazing photos... a stunning display of muscular nationalism in the form of architecture both new and demolished.  The vestigial architect in me is simultaneously awed and dismayed.

And even though close up (see last photo in series) the British pavilion is exquisite in it's concept and execution, all I could think of when I saw the first two photos was "Wow.  The Brits have a giant hedgehog as their national image."

Oh, I'm such a slacker!

Sorry.  Does it really take "Spring Ahead, Fall Back" to make me post?  sheesh.

Here's some funny eye candy.

Steampunk and monkeys.  What's not to like??  Chet Phillips of Chet Art did an interview with Felt and Wire.

Obediah Krinklenut??  What a perfect name.
